The method for doing Loaga vasiyam

“ஆகுவா யம்பலவா புலஸ்தியா கேள்

aaguvaa yambalavaa Pulasthiyaa kael

அப்பனே பூனைத்தா ள்வணங்கி மேனி

appanae poonaiththaal vanangi maeni

வாகுடனே சாபமத்தை நீக்குவதற்கு

vaagudanae saabamaththai neekkuvatharku

வளம் பெரிய பிரணவமே தேன்றாக்கால்

valam periya piranavamae thaenraakkaal

சாகுயடைய வட்சரமாம் தூ தூ வாகும்

saaguyadaiya vatsaramaam thoo thoo vaagum

சதுர மன்னர் தான் மயங்குந் தழை தானாகும்

sathura mannar thaan mayangun thazhai thaanaagum

நாகுடனே லட்சமுருவோ துவோது

naagudanae latchamuruvoa thuvoathu

நாயக னேநாடெல்லாம் வைசியந் தானே

naayaga naenaadellaam vaisiyan thaanae.”

Agathiyar says, “Pulasthiyaa, my disciple, listen. You have to chant the mantra ‘thoo thoo’ to get rid of the curse from the herb 'poonai vanangi’. This leaf is capable of enticing even the most powerful king.  By repeating the mantra ‘thoo thoo’ one lakh (100,000) times and then pulling out this herb will help you bringing the whole country under your own control.”
