Knowing yourself is the greatest learning - Thirumoolar

All that we learn or know through out our life may come under the category of learning. But in the cycle of learning, getting to know about thyself is the first, stable and truthful one. 

The Sihthars emphasized this as the important one. While the Siththars themselves has told this then getting to know about thyself is the better finding than anything else. 

This has told been Thirumoolar as,

"என்னை அறிந்திலேன் இத்தனை காலமும்

ennai arinthilaen iththanai kaalamum

என்னை அறிந்தபின் ஏதும் அறிந்திலேன்

ennai arinthapin aethum arinthilaen"

and

"தன்னை அறிய தனக்கொரு கேடில்லை

thannai ariya thanakkoru kaedillai

தன்னை அறியாமல் தானே கெடுக்கிறான்

thannai ariyaamal thaanae kedukkiraan"

and

"தன்னை அறிந்திடும் தத்துவ ஞானிகள்

thannai arinthidum thaththuva gnaanikal

முன்னை வினையின் முடிச்சை அவிழ்ப்பர்

munnai vinaiyin mudichchai avizhppar

பின்னை வினையை பிடித்து பிசைவர்

pinnai vinaiyai pidiththu pisaivar

சென்னியில் வைத்த சிவனருளாலே

senniyil vaiththa sivanarulaalae".

It has been told as Sivavaakkiyar as,

"என்னிலேயிருந்த ஒன்றையறிந்த தில்லையே

ennilaeyiruntha onraiyarintha thillaiyae

என்னிலேயிருந்த ஒன்றை யறிந்து கொண்டபின்

ennilaeyiruntha onrai yarinthu kondapin

என்னிலேயிருந்த ஒன்றை யாவர் காணவல்லரே

ennilaeyiruntha onrai yaavar kaanavallarae

என்னிலேயிருந்த ருந்திருந்து யாதுணர்ந்து கொண்டேனே

ennilaeyiruntha runthirunthu yaathunarnthu kondaenae".

Hence all the Siththars has told that those who have taken birth as human must know about thyrself. So let us all try to know about ourselves.
