You can be immortal too - Thirumoolar

“மூல நாடி முகட்டறை உச்சியில்
moola naadi mugattarai uchchiyil
நலுவாசல் நடுவுள் இருப்பீர்காள்
naluvaasal naduvul iruppeerkaal
மேலை வாசல் வெளியுறக் கண்டபின்
maelai vaasal veliyura kandapin
காலன் வாசல் கனவிலும் இல்லையே
kaalan vaasal kanavilum illaiyae.”

“Moola naadi” is refferred to suzhumunai*. This is the primary naadi to all the 72000 naadis in the human body. The room at the peak of the suzhumunai is located at the utmost top of the head. There is a gateway for four types of  wisdom*. If the mind becomes united with the centre of those wisdoms, one can vision the vast eternal space of truth, wisdom and bliss. After perceiving that vision, then there is no fear for Yama, the Lord of death, which literally means there is no death.

*Four types of Wisdom:- Wisdom through eye, ear, nose and tongue.

*Suzhimunai - a principal tubular vessel run through the back bone.

Methods to purify Mercury- Thirumoolar

 “ஆகாத கன்மச மகற்ற முறை(மை) கேளு

aagasa kanmasa magatra murai(mai) kaelu

வாகான கல்லுப்பு மாட்டு சமபாகன்

vaagaana kalluppu maattu samapaagan

தாகான குமரிப்பூ சாறொரு மூன்று நாள்

thaagaana kumarippoo saaroru moonru naal

பாகாய்க் கழுவிப் பதனமாய் வாங்கிட

paagaai kazhuvi pathanamaai vaangida.”

- திருமூலர் (Thirumoolar)

The above script says, “Listen. There is a method to remove the wastes from mercury. Take the crystalline salt equivalent to mercury and mix with the extract of kumari (Aloe barbadensis). Grind it with mercury for three days and take the purified mercury by cleansing it.”

This is one of the easiest way to remove defects and malignancies from mercury said by Thirumoolar. Konganavar too mentioned the same method to purify the mercury.

“உப்பது பலமும் நாலு

உயர்ந்தி டும்சூதம் எட்டு

கப்பதுக் கல்வத் திட்டுக்

- கொங்கணவர் (Konganavar)

Konganavars’ script says, “Take four palam* (140 gram) quantity of salt, mercury, extract of kumari (Aloe barbadensis) and grind it in kalvam* for three days. You can see that seven malignancies would have been removed.”

*palam - 35 gram

*kalvam - It is kind of a roller, which was made out of stone, used by Siththars for grinding.

Thirumoolar

                  Those who follow yogic way and those who are in search of spiritual knowledge will definitely know about Thirumanthiram. Thirumanthiram was written by Thirumoolar. There are many folk stories about Thirumoolar. It's natural that we will doubt those stories. So we can better leave that research. But it's true that there lived a Siththar named Thirumoolar.

Thirumoolar was a disciple of Nandheesar.

                     The book 'Manthira maalai', which consists of 3000 songs, was written by Thirumoolar. Later scholars who researched it named as Thirumanthiram and categorized into nine parts. In this book, Thirumoolar said about yogic secrets and philosophies of life. Thirumoolar’s main objective was conveying the World about the truths he found.

"யான்பெற்ற இன்பம் பெறுக இவ் வையகம்
yaanpetra inbam peruga iv vaiyagam
வான்பற்றி நின்ற மறைப்பொருள் சொல்லிடின்

Secrets of the Siththars – Siva Theetchais – final part- Agathiyar

கெவுனமது ஒடவென்றால் ஐயைந்து தீட்சை

kevunamathu odavenraal aiyainthu theetchai

கேளு நீ ஏ ஏ ஏ ஊ ஊ ஊ வென்று லட்சம்

kaelu nee yae yae yae vuu vuu vuu venru latcham

மவனமது சித்தியப்பா இருப்பதாறில்

மாதாவின் தீட்சையது இஷாய இஷாய ஓம்என்று லட்சம்

"Listen to the twenty fifth theetchai. On chanting “Yae Yae Yae Vuu Vuu Vuu” a lakh times, this theetchai could be attained" says Agathiyar.

"Listen to the twenty sixth theetchai. This is the theetchai of the sacred mother. On chanting “Ishaaya Ishaaya Om” a lakh times, the silent theurgy could be attained" says Agathiyar.

"Listen to the twenty seventh theetchai. In this theetchai you will yourself become Lord Siva. Listen it. Chant “Om Sivaaya Siva Reeng" a lakh times" says Agathiyar.

"Listen to the twenty eighth theetchai. On chanting “Siva Om Sivaaya Nama” a lakh times, your fame will spread all over the world says Agathiyar.

"புகழுண்டாம் இருபத்தி ஒன்பதாந் தீட்சை

pugazhundaam irupaththi onbathaan theetchai

போற்றுவாய் சவ்வும் மவ்வும் என்று லட்சம்

poatruvaai savvum mavvum enru latcham

நெகிளாது அய்யாறு தீட்சையப்பா

negilaathu ayyaaru theetchaiyappaa

நிலைத்தவர்க்கு மங் சங் கங் கென்று லட்சம்

"Listen to the twenty nineth theetchai. With this you would get a fame that could be praised. For that, chant "Savvum Avvum Mavvum” a lakh times" says Agathiyar.

"Listen to the 30th theetchai. On chanting “ Mang Sang Kang”, your body will never get destroyed. As your soul filled with joy, you will not get grey-hair and wrinkle skin. To withstand your body for an aeon, chant “Sreem Reem” a lakh times and the thirty first dheetchai could be attained" says Agathiyar.

"என்றுதான் லட்சமுரு செபித்தாற் சித்தி

enruthaan latchamuru sepiththaar siththi

இறவாமல் இருத்துமடா கோடிகாலம்

iravaamal iruththumadaa koadikaalam

நன்றுகாண் முப்பத்தி ரெண்டாந் திட்சை

நங் கிலி சிங் கிலி என்றே லட்சம்

nang kili sing kili enrae latcham

மன்றுள்ள காலம்வரை இரு;ததுந்தேகம்

வாழ்;த்திநீ தோத்திரங்கள் செய்துகொள்வாய்

vaazhththinee thoaththirangal seythukolvaai

கொன்றாலும் வாள்கொண்டு வெட்டினாலும்

குறையாமல் வாள்வெட்டுப் பொருந்துந்தானே

kuraiyaamal vaalvettup porunthunthaanae."

"Listen to the thirty second theetchai. On chanting “Nang Kili Sing Kili” a lakh times, you can remain alive for a crore years. And lead the rest of life with doing prayers. Even if some one kill you or cut with knife, the part which was cut will stick again. All these theetchais, that I have mentioned so far is not that easy to finish" says Agathiyar.

All the mantras that has been mentioned regarding the theetchais cannot be refused as junk. There might be many secret reasons behind them. Only with the blessing of the guru this could be understandable. By praying to those gurus I finish this series on theetchais.

Secrets of the Siththars – Siva Theetchais: 02 - Agathiyar

"உனைச் சேர்வார் சித்தர்களுஞ் சிவனார் தீட்சை

unaich saervaar siththarkalunj sivanaar theetchai

உன்பதுதான் வங் கிலியும் சிங் அம் ஐம் என்றுலட்சம்

unbathuthaan vang kiliyum sing am aim enrulatcham

வினையொழிந்து என்தேகம் கல்போலாகும்

vinaiypzhinthu enthaegam kalpoalagum

மெய்யான சட்டையொன்று தள்ளிப்போடும்

meyyaana sattaiyonru thallippoadum

தினந்துதிக்கும் சிவதீட்சை பத்தைத்தானுஞ்

thinanthuthikkum sivatheetchai paththaiththaanunj

செப்பார்கள் செப்புகிறென் வம் வும் அம் இம் என்று

seppaarkal seppukiren vam vum am im enru

எனைப்போலே சொல்வார்கள் தேகம் பொன்னாம்

enaippoalae solvaarkal thaegam ponnaam

இனிதான சிவதீட்சை ஓதினேனே

On chanting “Vang Kiliyum Sing Am Aim” lakh times, you will get rid of all your karmas and the body would become strong as stone. By this way the ninth theetchai could be attaianed successfully says Agathiyar.

On chanting “Vam Vum Am Im” lakh times, the body will shine like gold. This is is the sweetest tenth theetchai says Agathiyar.

"ஓதியதோர் சிவதீட்சை பதினொன்றுந்தான்

oathiyathoar sivatheetchai pathinonruthaan

உரைக்கின்றேன் மங் றீங் றீங் கென்று லட்சம்

uraikkinraen mang reeng reeng kenru latcham

பாதிமதி சடைக்கணிந்த சிவனார்பாதம்

paathimathi sadaikkanintha sivanaarpaatham

பணிந்து தொண்ட னாய் இருப்பாய் செய்துபாரு

paninthu thonda naai iruppaai seythupaaru

நீதிபெறும் பன்னிரெண்டாஞ சத்திதீட்சை

neethiperum pannirendaanj saththitheetchai

நிலைத்தவர்க்குத் தற்புருசம் வம் ஆம் நம் என் றுலட்சம்

nilaiththavarkkuth tharpurusam vam aam nam en rulatcham

சந்தித்துச் செபித்திடவே சித்தியாகும்

santhiththu sepiththidavae siththiyaagum

சட்டையொன்று தள்ளுமடா கெவுனமாமே

On chanting “Mang Reeng Reeng” a lakh times, then the eleventh theetchai gets achieved. This theetchai is equivalent to all the ten theetchais which we previously saw. Agathiyar says that if you do this, you will be the disciple of Lord Shiva.

           

Now listen to the twelveth theetchai. This is a face of Lord Siva which is turned is eastward for those who attained kalpa. On chanting “Vam Am Nam” for a lakh times, it would be successful. We get a cloth to go the kevuna maarkkam, by wearing which we can attain kevuna theurgy successfully says Agathiyar.

"ஆமப்பா சத்திபதி மூன்றாந் தீட்சை

aamappaa saththipathi moonraan theetchai

அறிவுடனே ஊம் ஆம் என்றே லட்சம்

arivudanae oom aam enrae latcham

நாமப்பா செபித்திடவே வச்சிரதேகம்

naamappaa sepiththidavae vachirathaegam

நமனும்இவன் கிட்டவந்து அணுகான் பாரு

namanumivan kittavanthu anukaan paaru

ஊமப்பா பதினாலாஞ் சத்தி தீட்சை

oomappaa pathinaalaanj saththi theetchai

உண்மையாம் றம் றூம் ஸ்ரீம் அவ்வு மென்று

unmaiyaam ram room sreem avvu menru

தாமப்பா லட்சமுரு செபித்தாற்சித்தி

thaamappaa latcha muru sepiththaarsiththi

சாயுட்சய பதம்பெறுவார் சார்ந்துகேளே!

saayutchaya pathamperuvaaar saarnthukaelae"

On chanting “Oom Aam” for a lakh times, the body becomes like diamond. Even Lord Yama (God of Death) also can not come near you. This way the thirteenth theetchai could be attained.

On chanting the “Ram Room Sreem Avvu” a lakh times, the fourteenth theetchai could be achieved. Also they will attain saayutchaya patham. Agathiyar says about it in the following way.

"சார்ந்துகேள் பதினைந்தாஞ் சத்திதீட்சை

saarnthukael pathinainthaanj saththitheetchai

தயவாக ஸ்ரீம் றீம் றீம் ஓம் என்று லட்சம்

thayavaaga sreem reem reem om enru latcham

தேர்நது பார் தேகமுந்தான் கல்போலாகும்

thaernthu paar thaegamunthaan kalpoalaagum

சிவசிவா நாதவிந்து கட்டிப்போகும்

sivasivaa naadhavinthu kattippoagum

ஆய்ந்தவர்க்குப் பதினாறாந் தீட்சை கேளு

aaynhthavarkkup pathinaaraan theetchai kaelu

அப்பனே சங் இங் றங் கென்றே லட்சம்

appanae sang ing rang kenrae latcham

மாந்தளிர்போல் தேகமுள்ள மனோன்மணியாள்

maanthalirpoal thaegamulla manoanmaniyaal

வருவாளே மகனென்று பணிந்து கொள்ளே

varuvaalae maganenru paninthu kollae."

On chanting “Sreem Reem Reem Om” lakh times, the body becomes like a stone. He says expertise that and he will tell the sixteenth theetchai.

On chanting “Sang Ing Rang” lakh times, the Manoanmani goddess will appear as a mother comes to her son. Bow and offer prayers to her says Agathiyar. This is the sixteenth theetchai.

Secrets of the Siththars – Siva Theetchais: 01- Agathiyar

*Theetchai - initiation of a person by a guru into religious customs

In this post we shall see about the first eight of the 32 theethais.  This Siva theetchai is the important one. These theetchais has to be done under the proper guidance of the guru.

"தீட்சையிலே முதற்தீட்சை சிவதீட்சைதான்

theetchaiyilae muthartheetchai sivatheetchaithaan

ஸ்ரீம் அம் ஓம் யென் றுலட்சம் ஜெபித்துவோதக்

sreem am om yen rulatcham jepiththuvoathak

காட்சிபெறத் தேகமெல்லாம் வியர்வை காணும்

kaatchiperath thaegamellaam viyarvai kaanum

கண்மாய்கை இல்லையடா கண்டுதேறு

kanmaaikai illaiyadaa kanduthaeru

ஆச்சுதடா சிவதீட்சை ரெண்டுங்கேளு

aachuthadaa sivatheetchai rendungaelu

ஆம் ஓம் ஹரீம் ரீம் யென்று நீயும்

aam om hareem reem yenru neeyum

மூச்சடா உள்ளடங்கும் லட்சமோத

moochadaa ulladangum latchamoatha

முத்தியுண்டாஞ் சத்தியுண்டாஞ் சித்தியாமே

muththiyundaanj saththiyundaanj siththiyaamae."

On chanting “Sreem Am Om” lakh times, the first theetchai will be successful. At that point of time, God will appear. While seeing the God, entire body will start sweating. But this sight is not an illusion and achieving it is the first theetchai says Agathiyar.

On chanting “Aam Om Hreem Reem” lakh times, the second theetchai will be successful. At that point of time, the breath will be stopped for a moment and also mukthi (final emancipation) and power could be attained.

"சித்தியாஞ் சிவதீட்சை மூன்றுகேளு

siththiyaanj sivatheetchai moonrukaelu

செப்புவேன் குறோம் ஸ்ரீம் றீம் றீம் நம் யென்று லட்சம்

seppuvaen kuroam sreem reem reem nam yenru latcham

பத்தியாய்ச் செய்துவர மோட்சமாகும்

paththiyaaich seythuvara moatchamaagum

பாணுவைப்போற் தேகமெல்லாம் ஒளியுமாகும்

paanuvaippoar thaegamellaam oliyumaagum

துத்தியஞ்செய் சிவதீட்சை நாலுகேளு

thuththiyanjei sivatheetchai naalukaelu

துடியுடனே ஸ்ரீங் அங் உங் கென்று

thudiyudanae sreeng ang ung kenru

முத்திபெற லட்சமுருச் செபித்தாற்சித்தி

muththipera latchamuruch sepiththaarsiththi

மோட்சமய்யா தேவதைகள் பணியுந்தானே

moatchamayyaa devathaikal paniyunthaanae."

On chanting “Kuroam Sreem Reem Reem Nam” lakh times, the third theetchai will be successful. At that point of time,  the body will shine like moon.

On chanting “Sreeng Ang Ung” lakh times, the fourth dheetchai will be successful. At that point of time, angels will bow to you and moatcham (salvation) could be attained says Agathiyar.

"பணிந்துதான் சிவதீட்சை அஞ்சுங்கேளு

paninthuthaan sivatheetchai anjungaelu

பண்பாக யங் வங் றீங் றுந்தான்

panbaaga yang vang reeng runthaan

துணிந்தோது லட்சமுருச் செபித்தாற்சித்தி

thuninthoathu latchamuruch sepiththaarsiththi

தொண்டுசெய்வார் தேவதைகள் சட்டைக்கும்

thonduseivaar devathaikal sattaikkum

அணிந்துகொள்வாய் சிவதீட்சை ஆறுங்கேளு

aninthukolvaai sivatheetchai aarungaelu

அன்புடனே சங் ரங் உம் ஆம் என்றுலட்சம்

anbudanae sang rang um aam enrulatcham

குனிந்துநிமிர் தேகமதில் வாசம் வீசும்

kuninthunimir thaegamathil vaasam veesum

குணமாகுந் தெகசித்தி சுருக்குத்தானே

gunamaagun thegasiththi surukkuththaanae."

On chanting “Yang Vang Reeng” lakh times, the fifth theetchai will be successful. At that point of time, the angels will give you a shirt and wear it says Agathiyar.

On chanting “Sang Rang Um Am” lakh times the first theetchai will be successful. At that point of time, your body gets fragrance. Along with that the body also gets purified says Agathiyar.

"தானேசெய் சிவதழுட்சை ஏழுநீயும்

thaanesei sivathazutchai aezhuneeyum

சந்தோஸ மாய்ஓது இங் ரங் அவ்வு மென்றுலட்சம்

santhoasa maaioathu ing rang avvu menrulatcham

மானேந்தும் ஈசுவரனும் அருகில் நிற்பார்

maanaenthum eesvaranum arukil nirpaar

வானவர்கள் மகிழ்வாக வாவென்பார்கள்

vaanavarkal magizhvaaga vaavenbaarkal

நானென்ற தீட்சையெட்டும் உற்றுக்கேளு

naanenra theetchaiyettum utrukkaelu

நன்றாக மங் றீங் ரா ரா வென் றுலட்சம்

nanraaga mang reeng raa raa ven rulatcham

ஆனந்த முண்டாகுந் தேவர்வந்து

aananhtha mundaagun devarvanthu

அன்பாக உனைச்சேர்ந்து அணைவார்பாரே

anbaaga unaichaernthu anaivaarpaarae."

On chanting “Ing Rang Avvu” lakh times, then Lord Siva with deer in his hand will be near you. Angels will invite you with joy says Agathiyar.

On chanting “Mang Reeng Raa Raa” lakh times, you will become happy. And also Angels will unite with you says Agathiyar.

All these theetchais should be attained in the step by step sequence only.I do not think there is a direct meaning for these mantras. If any of you know them, please let us also know about it. We shall see the next eight theetchais in the next post.

Secrets of the Siththars – Theetchai: An Introduction - Agathiyar

*Theetchai - initiation of a person by a guru into a religious customs

           This word theetchai or theekkai has got a great importance in the guru disciple tradition. The word theetchai means to purify and increase the quality. Anyone beyond six years is eligible to attain theetchai. We can find evidences of this theetchai in the Vedas also. In this post we shall see about the theetchai in the tradition of the Siththars.

            The Siththars believed that by protecting their body from getting spoiled they can do many special acts. In our life with search and clarifications, in every stage we need the guidance of the guru. The guidance and advice of the guru in each of these stages is considered as theetchai.

          Agathiyar in his 'Agathiyar Panniru Kaandam' and 'Agathiyar Kaaviyam' has written about these theetchai. He introduces the theetchai in the following way.

"தயவான தீட்சைவிதிக் காதிகாப்பு

thayavaana theetchaivithik kaathikaappu

தான்பாட வாராய்ந்து தெளிந்துபார்த்து

thaanpaada vaaraainthu thelinthupaarththu

செயலான முப்பதி ரெண்டுதீட்சை

seyalaana muppathi rendutheetchai

சித்தி செய்த பேர்க்கெல்லாம் ஞானம்சித்தி

 siththi seytha paerkkellaam gnanamsiththi

சுகமான பாவவினை அற்றுப்போகும்

sugamaana paavavinai atruppoagum

சோதிசிவ பாதமதைக் காணலாகும்

soathisiva paathamathaik kaanalaagum

நயமாக எந்தனுக்கு உபதேசித்த

nayamaaga enthanukku ubathaesiththa

நற்குமரன் திருவருளே தீட்ட்சைக்காப்பு

narkumaran thiruvarulae theetchaikkaappu."

           He says that he is going to tell about the 32 theetchais after a research and clarification. He also says that those who realize this and achieves success will attain wisdom and get rid of sins.  Also they will get the a chance to see the feet of Lord Siva. He says that these were told to him by Lord Muruga.
